Backyard Evolution

Cary

The homeowner said it best: “One of my favorite parts of
this project is that from the front yard, it looks like a traditional
home. Then, as soon as you walk into the backyard,
you are blown away with the resort-style oasis Old North
State Landscape Development, Inc. designed and installed.”

Historical Meets the Modern

Downtown

Durham

We pulled out all the stops for this downtown Durham historic home. Once an un-usable backyard, we terraced the yard to allow for usable entertain spaces for adults and children alike.

Country Club Style

Brier Creek

Raleigh

The driving factor to this entire property was to create a formal landscape that brought in elements of stone to enhance the property. Entertaining was another key factor of this space.

Rustic Touches

Rosemont

Durham

We added a touch of North Carolina rustic style to this french inspired backyard. The two styles were married with formal touch of Tennessee Stone and stacked ledgestone.

Rustic Elegance

Falls Lake

Raleigh

The main focus of this project was to be one with nature. This mountain lodge style home was tucked into a surround of trees. The new bluestone patio accented the existing pool with a pergola, firepit, and beautiful landscaping. All these elements combined to give relaxation.

Geometric Accents

Chapel Hill

This Cape Cod style home needed a modern accent in the backyard.  We created a new space using lines from the existing deck. The pool shape is accented by a black paver border, surrounded by large concrete paver slabs.

Fire & Water

Lake Boone Trail

Raleigh

Fire, water, stone, and brick; were just some of the selections we brought out in this backyard.  Blending natural stone, travertine, brick, and tile was no easy task, but the final product shows that these different materials are meant to be together.

Asian Fusion

Hope Valley - Durham

Our mission was to create a garden oasis reflecting the multiple Asian cultures that our clients frequent. In this project the rustic and eclectic mix of stones helped to achieve this style.  The inclusion of 2 fire features, multiple water features, pine tree topiaries, and Japanese maples helped bring the idea to fruition.

Modern Juxtaposition

Apex

Located between Apex and Jordan Lake, these homeowners wanted a place next to their pool where they could get some shade and also relax, grill out, and unwind.  We achived this by installing a modern cabana, a fireplace, bar, and grill area.  The homeowners will enjoy this for many years to come.

The Healing Garden

Raleigh

Located in downtown Raleigh, near Ridge road, this backyard was created to give joy back to this client. The traditional and formal gardens took over the front and backyard to create a stunning, relaxing, and calming backyard.
