Channel Drains
(also called trench drain) is a linear drain that moves water through an underground drainage system. It collects and disperses the runoff over a large area. Think of it like your home’s gutter system—except in the ground!
French Drain
is a trench filled with a perforated pipe and gravel that allows water
to drain naturally from your yard. Depending on the size of your yard and the scale of your drainage issue.
Gutters & Downspouts
A rain gutter’s main purpose is to funnel water off the roof and away from the home. Rain gutters collect the water and direct it to the downspout, allowing gravity to do its job by letting it flow harmlessly away.
Rip Rap
also known as rip rap, rip-rap, shot rock, rock armour, or rubble, is human-placed rock or other material used to protect shoreline structures against scour and water, wave, or ice erosion.
Rain Gardens
Rain gardens are bowl-shaped areas in a landscape designed to capture and soak in rainwater from roofs and driveways. Special plants are chosen that can have
“wet feet” for a few hours.
Rain gardens add beauty to your yard while reducing the time and resources you will spend maintaining a lawn. These gardens filter pollutants like bacteria and fertilizer. They also help protect against erosion and flooding by reducing the surge of water that rushes to streams during a storm.
Dry Creek Beds
A dry creek bed, also known as a dry stream bed, is a gully or trench, usually lined with stones and edged with plants to mimic a natural riparian area. You may decide to implement dry stream beds for drainage, thus preventing erosion by reducing runoff.
